Aces Up Solitaire
Aces Up is small, quick and surprisingly stubborn. Four columns, and you may throw away any card that has a higher card of the same suit showing. Get down to the four Aces and you have won.
How to play Aces Up Solitaire
Four cards are dealt face up in a row. The goal is to be left with only the four Aces.
If two cards of the same suit are showing, tap the lower one to discard it. Aces are the highest cards in this game.
When no card can be discarded, tap the draw pile to deal four more cards, one onto each column. Any single card may be moved into an empty column.
An empty column is your best tool: use it to uncover a card you want to discard.
You can play entirely with the keyboard: Tab puts a cursor on the table, the arrow keys move it, Enter picks a card up and puts it down, and S reads out everything on the table.
Questions people ask
Which card beats which?
Aces are high. A card can be discarded when another card of the same suit is showing above it in rank — so a seven of hearts goes when a ten of hearts is showing, but not when a ten of spades is.
What do I do with an empty column?
Move any showing card into it. Holding a column empty is often stronger than filling it, because it gives you somewhere to unbury a card you need.
How often can it be won?
Not often — it is a hard little game and losing is normal. Deals here are checked to be winnable, so the ones you get can all be beaten.
